Wandered around NYC a bit yesterday.

Across Houston Street from Film Forum, there's a little store, Alphaville, which sells vintage toys and collectibles. Or rather, soon it will be there was a little store; they're in the middle of closing.

It's been there for years. I'd been by the place before, but usually after they'd closed for the day. So it was a pretty lucky thing that I managed to wander by yesterday when they were open.

It's a funky store, full of funky things: original Mr. Potato Heads in the window (along with the carrot and green pepper things I'd forgotten about), a 1950s kitchen-table style kid's chair, odd games you really haven't seen in 40 years.

Looking through the boxes, I found this: Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the Official Comics Adaptation.

I didn't even *know* that there was a comic book treatment of Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Forty-eight pages; executive producers: Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy(!). And under the Marvel Graphic Novel imprint. But beyond an "episode" of Conan the Barbarian in The Witch Queen of Acheron, I don't really see anything else in the series listing that looks like a movie adaptation.

One good thing: Alphaville the store may be closing, but Alphaville the website lives on. I'll have to check in periodically.

Hunh! I'll have to find a protective sleeve for this. *After* I read it, of course.
